Juk Mabior Kuai is a 16 year old South Sudanese girl born in 2002 at the Camp and started her studies at Shambe Primary before she joined Angelina Jolie Girls in the year 2015 at Standard five, where she emerged the Top student not only in Angelina Jolie Primary School but the whole of Kakuma Camp for her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) with 418 marks out of the possible 500 marks. Angelina Jolie Girls is the only boarding school among the 22 Primary Schools in Kakuma Camp with outstanding performances every year due to the dedication and availability of teachers to the learners at anytime of the day as Juk rose the flag more higher this year with incredible marks. Juk had only one challenge when she was in school. " I was not an early riser but I am determined to always make sure that I did my work smartly. thanks to my headteacher Madam Sabella Muthoni who had always been strict with us. My class-teacher Mr Mwendo Collins was our mathematic teacher and i loved it, how he teached and made sure we understood well. I think thats why i love maths a lot " she said. Her dream is to be an accountant and major in mathematics. Juk wants to be a role model for all girls and give them hope that mathematics is not only boys' subject but also girls subject and they can do better if they believe in themselves.
